The historical and architectural monuments of Pskov have been included in UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites. This decision was adopted at the 43rd session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in Baku. The final list includes 10 of the most ancient churches of the Pskov school of architecture: the Cathedral of St. John the Forerunner at St. John’s Monastery, the Holy Transfiguration Cathedral at Holy Transfiguration-Mirozhsky Monastery, the Cathedral of Nativity of the Theotokos at the Snetogorsky Monastery, the Church of the Archangel Michael with its bell tower, the Church of the Holy Protection from Proloma and many others.
